For the past several years I have been making my own sunscreen. I can honestly say that the first batch came out like spackle and you could not rub it in. Actually it was awful and we looked like pasty ghosts walking around 🙂
As the years have gone by the recipe has been tweaked several times. The reason I began making our own is that my skin kept breaking out in a rash from store-bought sunscreen. That is it, I was tired of itchy red bumps. The sunscreen we currently use makes my skin soft the lets me play outside.
One benefit of making your own sunscreen, you decide what goes in it.
